Okay, hier endlich mal wieder ein Update, wobei ich nicht ganz ehrlich bin - ich bin schon seit über einer Woche zurück in Perth, nur hatte ich soviel um die Ohren schon wieder und musste mich obendrauf erstmal ausruhen von der ganzen Reiserei, so dass ich erst jetzt zum schreiben komme.
Um weiter zu erklären wo ich war, nachdem ich mich aus Tom Price das erste Mal gemeldet hab, bin ich von dort nach Exmouth gefahren, wo ich tauchen, schnorcheln und fischen war. Nach Exmouth habe ich einen kurzen Stop in Coral Bay eingelegt, bin dann weiter nach Carnarvon mit einem Mini Lebenszeichen hier im Blog und bin dann weiter nach Denham, wo das groesste Abenteuer eine Übernachtung im Auto direkt bestand. Dort war ich aber nochmal auf einer Boot-Schnorchel-Natur-Wal-Tour, bin dann nach Monkey Mia zum Delphin anschauen, um dann nach einem Zwischenstop bei 3500 Millionen Jahre alten Bakterien in Kalbarri (Stadt und Nationalpark) die nächste Übernachtung einzulegen. Dann bin ich weiter nach Geraldton, und dann kam alles anders als geplant.
Irgendwie hat sich bei mir in den Kopf geschlichen, dass ich mit meinem kleinen Auto doch mal Leonora (hach, mein Leonora!) besuchen gehen könnte. Und wie ihr wisst, was ich mir einmal in die Rübe gesetzt habe mache ich dann auch. Von Geraldton nach Perth wären 400 km gewesen, der kleine Umweg über Leonora war dann etwas mehr mit nur 1600 km... Nur hab ich davon leider kein einziges Beweisfoto, bin ich nicht blöd?
Im Endeffekt bin ich eine groß Acht durch Nord-West-Ost West Australien gefahren und habe dabei mehr als 5000 km abgespult, und ich bin jeden einzelnen Kilometer selber gefahren. Gebraucht habe ich dafür, mit mehrtägigen Stops in Tom Price und Exmouth, drei Wochen und zwölf Stunden. Mein Auto hat die ganze Reiserei sehr gut überstanden und hat als Belohnung eine Tiefenreinigung in der Waschstraße bekommen.
Die Reise war es absolut wert, auch wenn ich doof angeschaut worden bin weil mein Auto so klein ist, normalerweise sind im Norden Geländewagen angesag. Ja, ich konnte mit meiner kleinen Schüssel keine ungeteerten Straßen zB in den Nationalparken fahren, aber dafür gibt es ja Touranbieter. Für alleinreisende wie mich ist so ein kleines Auot perfekt, es bringt mich von A nach B, es passt alles notwendige rein, und vom absolut traumhaften Benzinverbrauch mal ganz zu schweigen.
Die Szenerie und Landschaft ist im Norden einfach nur traumhaft, diese einfachen aber starken Kontraste zwischen roter Erde und blauer Himmel ist absolut traumhaft, zwischendurch ein bisschen grün, und eigentlich ist es unbeschreibbar, man muss es live und in echt gesehen haben.
So, dann was organisatorisches, ich hab soviele Bilder und Sachen zum schreiben, dass ich jetzt erstmal versuchen werde, mich durch die Bilder durchzuarbeiten, um dann das Geschreibsle später nachzureichen. Also immer schön hier im Blog nachschauen was es aktuelles gibt.
Okay, finally a new update from me; to be honest I've been back in Perth for over a week by now, but I already had so much to do and of course I had to relax and rest from all the traveling in the first place so that just now I've got some time for writing.
To further explain where I've been, after I said hi from Tom Price for the first time, I went over to Exmouth for some diving, snorkeling and fishing. After Exmouth I stopped shortly in Coral Bay, and then moved on to Carnarvon with the second hello. Then I went down to Denham, where the biggest adventure was my night in the car, but I also went onto another boat-snorkel-nature-whale-tour, then I went over to Monkey Mia for a look at some dolphins, and after I stopped at some 3500 billion year old bacterias I spent the night at Kalbarri (town and national park). Then I moved on to Geraldton, and that's where my whole plan changed.
Somehow I got the idea that I could visit Leonora (sigh, my Leonora!) with my little car, and as you know, once I got an idea in my bloody head I go through with it. So, instead driving 400 km from Geraldton to Perth I turned the other way and in the end this little off-road adventure was an additional 1600 kms. Stupid me, I forgot to take some pictures of that one.
In the end I drove a big eight through North-West-East West Australia and I've done over 5000 km and even more important, I've driven every single kilometer myself. All in all it took me, with some longer stops in Tom Price and Exmouth, three weeks and twelve hours. My car behaved itself all the time and got a deep clean as a peace offer.
It was absolutely worth doing this trip, even though people looked at me and my car in a very funny way, usually you just get 4x4 up north. Yes, I couldn't do unsealed roads with my little car, for example in the National Parks, but for that I used tour providers anyway. For people traveling alone small cars like this are perfect, you get from A to B, everything fits into it, and don't you talk about fuel consumption.
The landscape is just absolutely beautiful up north, I really really like those simple but strong contrasts between the read earth and the blue sky, and in between there is some green and I just don't have the words to describe it properly, you just have to go and see it live and for real for yourself.
I've took so many pictures and I've got so much to write, that I start with putting all the pictures up first, and all the writing and explanations on a later date. So don't forget to keep checking here for new stuff.
